Seven miles of the unique Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, The Nez Perce National Historic Trail and the Lewis & Clark Trail pass through the Upper Lemhi Valley. Leadore is a staging point for the Continental Divide Trail and Tendoy is a staging point for the Lewis & Clark Trail. Leadore, Lemhi and Tendoy are excellent food and mail drops for those backpacking these trails.
The mountains ranges on either side of the Upper Lemhi Valley provide trails for hikers, high alpine lakes and meadows for fishing and camping, and several challenging peaks over 10,000 feet for climbing.
The opportunities for wildlife observation are literally endless. Just about every animal and bird indigenous to the American Rockies lives in this area.
